One of my good friends snagged this dresser from her uncle for the grand total of free. The only problem was that it was, well, ugly. Really ugly.

I’m ashamed to say that I didn’t get a great before picture. We had already taken off the hardware and spray painted these weird things that were bronze. Our original plan was to paint the dresser white. After four coats of primer, the wood was bleeding through a weird pink color. So, we switched gears and chose black. We showed that dresser who was boss.

For the first time in my life I’m grateful that I’m a sloppy painter. We spray painted those weird brassy metal things first and of course, I made a boo-boo and got paint on them. It worked out for the best because now they blend in rather than stand out.

We gave the hardware a quick coat of silver spray paint. Now this dresser has been brought into this century.

I’m not sure what my friends plans for it are but it was a fun redo!
